MAGGIE'S KITCHEN Maggie's Kitchen", is the team of Glenluce ladies, led by convenor Margaret Stewart, who feed the tractor drivers on the day of the Rally. Homemade soup, filled rolls and tray bakes are the fare of the day, and visitors to the Rally are sold the same and it is the profits from these sales, with help from raffles and other fund raising, which go to local charities, such as the Palliative Care Unit at the Galloway Community Hospital, Stranraer, The Order of St.John's, We Are MacMillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Port William Inshore Rescue Boat and The Galloway Mountain Rescue Team, to mention a few.
"When we were first planning the rallies", says Margaret Stewart, "We thought it would be a good idea to feed the tractor drivers entering the Rally as a reward for their support. It seemed to be an unique idea in the world of tractor rallies, and it may well help to explain how our Rally has grown in popularity every year. And then we thought, if we are going to feed the drivers, then why not also the spectators and visitors, and raise some money for good causes".
